People come to Galicia looking for something. Some want forgiveness, some peace, or beauty, or just rest. And often they are not disappointed. Peaceful hills slope down into rocky coasts. Deep forests open into green meadows and quaint villages. But usually people search for something deeper. Pilgrim feet follow ancient trails, centuries of footprints. To keep a promise. To fill a void. Looking for God, for salvation. But many walk away, the same as when they started their journey.
Tradition abounds, but a personal faith in a living and loving Father and Savior is not as common. Many towns have no gospel witness proclaiming salvation through Jesus alone.
Towns like Baiona, Ordes or As Pontes de Rodriguez have no evangelical presence. They have beauty, or what many now seek even more, jobs. But no fellowship of evangelical believers who come together weekly to study the Bible and live their faith.
The feet Galicia needs are the ones that bring good news. Maybe yours are those feet. Or maybe yours are the prayers that move other feet to come and preach peace. Pray for Galicia. Pray for beautiful feet.
