In the Iberian Peninsula, during the Middle Ages, there was a kingdom whose control extended into much of the Mediterranean: the feared Crown of Aragón.
Centuries later, Aragón is one of the larger and less populated regions of Spain, located in the north and made up of three provinces: Huesca, Teruel and Zaragoza.
Many legends come from these lands, and the writer Gustavo Adolfo Becquer (Becker) put many on paper. One well-known tale, “The Lovers of Teruel,” equals the passion of another famous couple, Romeo and Juliet.
Aragón is nestled between the Pyrenees Mountains in the north and the Iberian System mountain range in the south. In between lies the vast Ebro River Valley. During the winter, families from all over Europe come to ski in these mountains, and when the weather softens, they relax in the tranquility of the temperate climate and spectacular landscapes.
Observing the music and dancing, life can seem happy and uncomplicated. Yet very few in the former kingdom of Aragón have come to know the King of the Ages.
